The Adventurists live to find ways to make the world a bit more difficult. To bring chaos into our over-sanitized lives. To create adventures where you don’t know what will happen tomorrow or if you’ll even make it. Because there’s no greater moment than those seconds as you leap into an abyss of uncertainty and disaster.

After taking part in the Rickshaw Run in India, I was given the opportunity to manage the South-East Asian Rickshaw Run. There’s no set route, no back-up and no way of knowing if you’re going to make it. The only certainty is that you will get lost, you will get stuck and you will break down.

Not only is the Rickshaw Run an industrial dose of adventure, it’s also about Saving the World. Every team is asked to make their best efforts to raise a minimum amount for the official charity Cool Earth.

25 teams per adventure, 2,000 miles of back roads, dangers, forests and mountains, I was chief mechanic, permit wrangler, party organizer, insurance checker and general adviser of adventure.

After 3 years and 6 adventures, the rickshaws fantastically decided to go no further and now live out their retirement gloriously in a rice paddy in Bali.
